ABOUT CATULO TANGO
CATULO TANGO
Catulo Tango is an intimate live tango space located in the heart of the Abasto neighborhood, one of the most emblematic corners of Buenos Aires and home to great figures of Buenos Aires culture. This neighborhood, crossed by the history of tango, poetry and bohemian life, inspires every detail of the place.
The name Catulo Tango pays homage to Catulo Castillo, one of the great Argentine tango poets, author of unforgettable lyrics that portray the soul of Buenos Aires, its nights, its loves and its nostalgias. Catulo supposed to transform Buenos Aires' daily life into poetry, and that spirit is what lives in every role: a tango told from within, with true and surrounding emotion.
The space was conceived as a cultural refuge, filled with massive formats, where the public could feel the tango in an authentic way. Here, live music, dance and history merge in a warm and welcoming environment, creating a direct connection between artists and spectators. Each show is unique, designed to convey the essence of Buenos Aires tango in its purest form.
Every night, the Catulo Tango stage comes to life through professional artists who represent the best of Argentine tango. Tango dancers from outstanding backgrounds perform intense and elegant choreographies, where technique, connection and passion combine to tell stories without words. Each movement reflects the essence of Buenos Aires tango, from its most traditional roots to contemporary expressions full of energy and emotion.
The experience is enriched by the presence of a live orchestra, which performs the great tango classics with careful arrangements, recreating the authentic sound of Buenos Aires nights. Bandoneón, violin, piano and bass accompany each dance step, generating an immersive atmosphere that transports the audience to the heart of Buenos Aires. Here are tango singers, whose deep and expressive voices interpret lyrics full of history, nostalgia and feeling, connecting the viewer with the soul of the genre.
As part of the cultural tour, the show also incorporates songs from Argentine folklore, bringing color, rhythm and diversity to the night. Traditional dances and popular music from the country are in dialogue with tango, offering a broader vision of Argentine cultural identity and enriching the artistic experience.
